AIR EUROPA ARRIVES IN PANAMA

Starting on June 3, Air Europa will launch a new flight to Panama that will open more alternatives within the country’s competitive air proposal, which has given it the name of the Hub of the Americas. For Carlos Conde, Commercial Manager of this Spanish airline, cataloged as the third company that moves the most passengers between America and Europe, “there are many good news for Panama, especially because we are going to contribute to the development of local tourism.”

It is a route with five weekly flight frequencies, which is part of the expansion process of this aeronautical company in the region. Only in November 2018, a total of 220,965 international travelers entered Panamanian territory through the Tocumen International Airport, according to data from the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) and now, from the Adolfo Suarez Airport in Madrid – Barajas, travelers from all over the world will have the opportunity to connect directly to the Isthmus. “Panama is selling itself as a different destination, where you have the alternative of exploring the city, the beaches, shopping, events, and more” says Conde.

According to the executive, in addition to its strategic location, Panama will promote the sale of flights to other cities such as San Jose, Guatemala and Managua. “The flight will be fed not only from the local market, but from Central America.” The official launch of this route was made last January, from the stand of Panama, during the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), in Spain, known as one of the largest tourism fairs in the world.

The plane responsible for covering this new route is a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, considered one of the most modern aircrafts in the world. It is an ‘ecological’ aircraft, lighter, with less fuel consumption, and with capacity for 296 passengers. The flight will depart at 3:30 p.m. from Madrid and will land in Panama at 6:30 p.m. Two hours later, the aircraft will return to Spain, to arrive at 1:00 p.m. to Barajas in order to have an immediate and comfortable connectivity to the different cities of Spain and Europe.
