The Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) in association with the Chamber of Tourism (CAMTUR) announced that the country will be the official site of the next AdventureWeek 2018. This is a recognized fam / press trip or familiarization trip for tourism stakeholders and specialized press, organized in collaboration with Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) that seeks to promote the main destinations for adventure tourism worldwide.
The event will take place from May 27 to June 3, 2018 and will gather 15 buyers, 5 journalists, ATTA staff and 2 storytellers, who will document and create video material and photos. The intention of this event is to offer buyers and journalists access to innumerable alternative of adventure experiences that are waiting to be discovered by those who seek to promote Panama as a new destination for their audiences, or a way to review and update classic itineraries and routes in an unexpected way, with unusual and special perspectives.
As a result of the combined effort between Adventure Travel Trade Association, ATP and CAMTUR, this is one of the many steps planned in the coming years to help the country add dimension to its international brand, while creating opportunities to those responsible for the development of rural tourism in extraordinary communities that have been forgotten for long time, as well as helping in a more efficient manner to manage the capacity of tourism in the next years.
At the same time, promoters of the event have opened the competition to choose the company responsible for developing and operating the itinerary of these guests who are passionate about adventure tourism and will soon visit Panama.
